Bumblebee Woman
Had time off and good weather so I went on a photowalk with some minifigures.
Plus my minifigures Character Encyclopedia arrived today. I still think the Toy Solider should have been in series 10 for army building. Grandpa, Librarian, or Sea Captain should have been included in the book. They are single character not good for groups. Grandpa has unique hair part and is used in the book to show haw a figure is designed from concept to final figure. The Librarian cause she ties into books. The sea Captain is colorful and
would attract attention.
See previous post about the Character Encyclopedia. Minifigures Character Encyclopedia.

Gorgons attack! and Ebay suggests what?
I found another Medusa.
The Medusa tail has been used in Ninjago snake minifigs. I remember seeing some of the figs before and thought they were cool. I checked E-bay to see how much the figs costs. I hit search and boy was I surprised. Look what showed up as a related search. Woman’s home companion cookbook. What does Ninjago have to do with cooking? Or is it the snakes that matched the cooking theme? I haven’t searched for cook books.
Giving benefit of doubt maybe Moms search Ninjago for their kids and eBay marks recognized the same user had looked at cook books.

LEGO Medusa!
I finally had time to shoot the Medusa minifig. She looks even better than the pictures. The tail is really big as it should be to keep it in scale. I want more of these. I don’t know what I’ll do with them but these are cool. This is my favorite from the collectible series.

Affair at the Arcade stars K’nex Super Mario Brother Wii Princess Peach, Mario Cart Mario and , Luigi, and a Pac-man arcade candy tin. It took a while to find a princess peach. I had seen her sold in blister pack earlier. But when I started looking for one in store she was nowhere to be found. I finally saw the Mario bros wii bags. She was easy to id in the bag the dress easy to find. If you want other characters there is a code to determine what’s in the bag. It is based on which number is underlined on the back of the bag. Also this is my first multi panel comic.
Series 10 in Stores
LEGO mini figures series 10 is finally in stores. I ran to toys r us during lunch hoping to find some figures. I was there at eleven just an hour after they opened. They’d been hit hard. Two boxes on the shelf one had a dozen or so figures the other was empty.
I did a felt the bags for a Medusa and didn’t feel the tail. I didn’t have much time so I just grab a couple bags.
I tried Target they didn’t have any figs. So what did I get?

The Sky diver and the decorator. Neither of these were on my must have list. But the sky diver’s facial expression is hilarious.
Need help findings a figure check my page What’s in the bag? for tips and links to help. the Brick Blogger has a great feel guide for series 10.
UPDATE: I found a Medusa. Looks even better than I thought it would. The tail is huge.

LEGO Store trip cancelled
I had to cancel my trip to the Nashville LEGO Store’s anniversary event. I was all prepared to go, had my VIP card, an anniversary coupon, and I knew what I was going to purchase. I was also taking a small camera. I wanted to take a couple of pics of the store and the planned USA map build event.
I headed out the door. Cranked the truck. The engine would not turn over. The battery is only a couple of years old and I still had lights and electronics. I didn’t think it was the battery. I cleaned the connections. The were a little corroded but not too bad. Still nothing.
I called AAA. He tested the battery, and connections. All were good So I had to get a tow. Luckily there’s a shop nearby with Saturday hours. The truck just needed a tune up, ignition coil, and distrubutor cap. The fixed the truck the same day. But the unexpected expense killed the entertainment budget. The cost lets just say it was enough to by the recently announced Orthanc set. That set is not out till July so I couldn’t get it. But I was going to buy a couple smalls sets. Those will have to wait till mid May.
BTW: Get AAA they are worth the price.
Tower of Orthanc LEGO set
The LEGO Lord of the Rings Tower of Orthanc 10237 images hit the web today. The set is massive and beautiful. The set contains 2359 pieces. You get an ideal of how big the Tower is when it is shown in the shot with the Trent and the minifigs. But this video of it gives a better view of the scale of the tower. The set retails for 199.99. I would love to have this.

Series 10 spotted and denied
Look gold LEGO mini bag! Series 10 on the shelf cool!
So I was running errands today. I stopped at the store for some 2 liter drinks. Eventually I made it to the toy section. I checked the LEGO aisle and saw blind bags. It took a second to realize these were series 10 bags. I tried to remember what was in the series so I would know what parts to feel for. I try a few bags and found a Medusa and a black and white clown. Plus a mystery one. I checked price on the self-scan, $2.99.
I waited in line for an extremely long time. When I finally get there the cashier scan the bag, scans it again then just walks away. She talks to another employee and comes back. “Cant sell them look.” she scans it and the screen says BEFORE SALES DATE. “It doesn’t say when we can sell.” She pushes them across the counter and says maybe customer service can help.
I go over there tell the customer service associate about it and that they scan at the price check kiosk. She looks for paperwork with a date finds nothing, Pages the toy department. Says she can’t sell but she’ll see if they know the date. She calls again. Someone finally shows scans it and say s they can’t sell till May 1st.
So I almost had a Medusa. It was easy to feel in the bag. I just hope I can find it on the first. I never saw series 9 at this store at all. I can’t blame the cashiers they have to hold to the Hold off floor date but man, so close to a scoop for the blog.
