Brick pedia entry for #9509 2013 star Wars advent calendar

(TPM) the Phantom Menace
(ATC) Attack of the Clones
(ROS) Return of the Sith
(ANH) Star Wars:A New Hope
(ESB) The Empire Strikes back
(RTJ) Return of the Jedi

My favorites were the AT-AT, Rebel Trooper(ANH), R2D2 and Santa Darth Maul. Least favorite was the MTT. The weapons should have been packed with the figures.  A couple of ships were hard to id. Plus too much Phantom Menace builds for me. But overall another fun advent calendar.

I hope LEGO makes another one next year. What Christmas theme minifig would you like to see in 2013? I like to see Queen Amidala from set #9499 Gungan Sub as a Christmas tree.  Next year Hasbro packing features Yoda. Will the calendar be focused on Return of the Jedi for the 30th anniversary? or on one of the prequels that will be out in 3D next fall?

What was your favorite? What was you least favorite?

so thanks for following!

LEGO CUUSOO announces summer review.

LEGO CUUSOO has announced the results of their current review. They were reviewing four projects. the results are.

EVE Online Ships – Rifter the LEGO Review Board has decided that this project does not meet the requirements for the business case

The Modular Western Town would conflict with the upcoming Lone Ranger line so it will not be made.

The Legend of Zelda will not be made due to the cost of making news molds for the mini-figs in the games.

But one set did make the cut and passed the review. One of the best film trilogies will be made into LEGO form.

Back to the Future DeLorean Time Machine
by m.togami* and Sakuretsu
After analyzing the supporters of the Back to the Future project, we learned that this product has a broad, worldwide appeal. The model presented in this project is built very closely to the LEGO Group’s design standards and has therefore provided a strong base to design the final product. It has a high play value and it fits well with supporters’ price expectations.

For these reasons, the Back to the Future project has passed the LEGO Review, and has been selected for production as the next LEGO CUUSOO set. The final product, pricing, and release dates are still being determined.

I’m really excited about Back to the Future theme. I would have like also had Zelda approved cause it is so popular. New western stuff would be cool as well, I guess they are banking on Lone Ranger to fill that void in the LEGO line.

Today’s Advent mini-fig is a Rebel solider. Really neat figure from Star Wars: A New Hope. He’s one of the first characters we see in the entire saga. He has a cool large hat which, like the rebel trooper in Hoth gear, has three visors.

ConNooga Kidz 2013

Help us raise funds for guests, activities, and crafts for the 2013 ConNooga Kidz track.

We are entering the 6th year of ConNooga in beautiful Chattanooga, TN.  This multi-genre sci-fi/fantasy/comic/anime/pop culture/etc. con has always tried to have a family-friendly aspect, knowing that geeky parents want to involve their kids in these hobbies.  To this end, the ConNooga Kidz track has fan-related guests and activities specifically for kids under 13.  Each year we have expanded this track and look to do so again in 2013.  We want this to be a mini con-within-a-con, catering to kids growing up with interests in all aspects of fandom.

Ninjago returns in 2014

News from LEGO about Ninjago

Is Ninjago really ending?

Actually, we have more Ninjago sets planned for next year and 2014! Stay tuned to our website, catalog, and club magazine for more information in the future!

I heard that the Ninjago cartoon is ending and there won’t be any more episodes. Is that true?

We have plans for Ninjago in 2013. We can’t tell you about them just yet.

Is Chima replacing Ninjago?

Even though we have new Chima sets coming next year, we also have new Ninjago sets too! Chima is a brand new theme, not a replacement for Ninjago. You’ll be able to get more information about Chima and Ninjago after the New Year!

250th post: raeppa idej

This is the 250th post on Yoda Archives. The master Jedi had to make an appearance.

lego zantanna lego yoda This is my first customization of a character. I have built a few MOC character but.this is the first try at making a published character. LEGO Zatanna is built from the parts of various LEGO mini-figures. The legs are borrowed from the Black Canary Figure I purchased online.  The other parts are official LEGO items. On one version of this I had text on the image. She said “raeppa idej” or Jedi appear but I think it slowed down the joke. Yoda said “Fire my agent, I will”.  I think the visual is enough.
