Tolkien Reading Day!

Tolkien Reading Day is an annual event, launched by The Tolkien Society in 2003, that takes place on March 25. It has the aim of encouraging the reading of the works of J. R. R. Tolkien, and the use of Tolkien’s works in education and library groups. The date of March 25 was chosen in honour of the fall of Sauron, in Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings.

So log off and go read. I’m taking The Hobbit to work to read at Lunch. What are you going to read today? What is your favorite J. R. R. Tolkien book?

My favorite is, and always will be, the lord of the rings. I read it for the first time when I was only a teenager. At first I didn’t like it because I missed Bilbo haha… and there are some boring pieces in there… but it is soooo Epic….

    • I really expect that Lord of The Rings is most people’s favorite. For its sheer epicness. I didn’t get to read as much as I wanted on Monday. I left the book at home. But since I started I have to finish so I’m reading it now. And hopefully this weekend I can watch the Hobbit dvd.
