Nerd Block August Unboxing
What is Nerd Block?
Nerd Block is a monthly subscription service for geeks. Every month, subscribers will receive a package containing a t-shirt and 4-6 toys or collectables. You pick the shirt size but the design and toys are unknown.
So What’s in the Box?
First up is Garbage pail minikins series 2($2.99). Two figures with matching stickers. I remember Garbage pail from when I was little. There were gross and fun. I got Micheal Mutant ans Pete Seat. Pete Seat is a yellow Variant version. That bag said yellow was ultra rare but I have no clue as to how rare. The comic store version have peach as their ultra rare and they are 1 in 12. Yellow rare were sold in retail blind bags.
Bravest Warrior Key chain ($3.99) from Cartoon Hangover
The shirt is a pokemon pokeball. It is a cool design. I like the look of it but since I don’t play Pokemon, this may end up on E-bay or storenvy.
Doctor Who comics (3.99 each) Number 1 issues of the new tenth and eleventh Doctor’s comic with exclusive Nerd Block covers. Comics are cool.
And the big event for the Month. Funko Pop Heroes Vinyl. It is a previews exclusive Harley Quinn. I was so happy to see this is my box. This month subscribers got either Harley Quinn or Batman Funko pop figures.
September Nerd Block: They have said September’s box will include a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle item from the classic cartoon series. Plus some big reveal about the box sometime this week. I’ll update it here.
UPDATE
Nerd Block made their Big announcement. In addition to the classic Nerd Block, Jr Nerd Blocks, and the Horror Block, they now have an Arcade Block focused on gaming. The first one ships on September 25. You have four weeks to decide if you want one.
Spoiler alert! If you get a box don’t read the shipping label. There is a mini invoice on it that tells whats inside. It’s vague but may reveal more than you want to know.

800 Posts
With this post I hit the 800 mark. I can’t believe I hit this milestone. I really enjoy creating these images and writing the blog. The site keeps growing July 2014 was the most traffic this site has ever had. Plus for August we’ve already doubled last year’s numbers. In fact it is very likely that later today we will surpass last year total views with four more months still to go in the year.
I have several things in the works for the site, The August nerd block review will be soon. It has been photographed I still need to read the periodicals that was part of the set, plus research some of the items. I will say I did get an awesome Funko pop item. I promised a nanoblock review I am working on it as well. And of course I have more action figure photo in the works.

Minion Surprise Figures Update
I previously posted about new Minion Surprise blind foil bags. At that point I had not found the new bags in store. Well I finally found them at Toys R Us. from the image on thinkway’s site, I was worried the new and old figures might be mixed in the bags. They are not. The new ones are labeled as Despicable Me Minion Made, Minion Surprise.
There are eleven figures pictured on the bag and checklist card. See the Minion Made list below. All these but the kicking minion are in the Toys R us Boxed set. The box set is $19.99 and the bags are $2.99 at Toys R Us. I do not see any cheat code for these. The bags have the same code, D62504 stamped on the bottom of each bag. The figure is packaged in a way that makes it hard to use the feel method to determine what minion is in the bag.

More Minion Surprise Figures!
Yesterday I posted a pic of a Minion Maid mini figure. It is part of a ten piece Toys R US set. These are new Despicable Me figures. I did a little research and found out there are more minion surprise figures!
Here are the blind bags figures that were released last year. They were sold in random blind bags for $2.99 each. Last summer I could only find them at K-mart and Toys R Us. Once the Despicable Me 2 DVD came out more stores had them but by then the price increased to $3.99. I never found a code for the blind bags.
Toy R US 2013 boxed set. Still listed online. You can see it has all of the first series of blind bag characters except for Carl, Lucy, Eduardo and Antonio. The set was $19.99.

This is what I found on Thinkway toys web site. The text is the same as from last year. The only change is they added “New Figures coming soon!” and “Release August 1, 2014” The first was last Friday. I have not seen the bags in store yet. I found the 2014 TRU Minion Made boxed set in late July. I didn’t know there were new bags on the way.
And here is the thinkway Minion Surprise current picture. There are twenty figures in this shot some old and some new. There’s a mix of 2013 and 2014 figures I broke them down into the table below. I called them series 1 and 2 for sake of ease. I haven’t seen the bags yet. I hope the older ones are not mixed with the newer ones in the blind bags. I will let you know once I find them in store.
