But before the store closes there is a special event friday evening.

For a period of 24 hours last year, LEGO fans from all over the world joined a live stream to help support Creations for Charity. From building LEGO sets, working on MOCs, discussing the LEGO hobby, to sorting LEGO; it’s safe to say that everyone involved had a great time and all for a great cause.

This year’s event will be building upon last year’s success and taking the art of building with and talking about LEGO for 24 hours non stop to new heights! With 24 hours of non stop LEGO action, this is surely going to be something you won’t want to miss. From 5pm EST on Friday November 27th to 5pm EST on Saturday November 28th, we’ll be fighting off sleep to bring you all kinds of LEGO goodness!

The Creations for Charity brick link store opened on October 15 and closes on November 30th.

This is a great fundraiser. Help if you can purchase an item for a LEGO fan, pledge and watch the stream and feel good about helping.

Last year I got some brain slugs, a custom brick, and an awesome Ms. Marvel figure from Creations for Charity. Ms Marvel on the left came from a C4C builder.

Creations for Charity 2014

The LEGO Car Blog just reminder me about a great program. Since 2009  Creations for Charity has run an annual fundraiser for underprivileged children. LEGO builders create custom items from bricks, minifigs and MOCs. They donate the items to C4C, which sells them to buy LEGO sets for children. You can even have a custom project built for yourself.

The Creations for Charity brick link store opens on October 15 and closes on November 30th. There are just a few days to pick up a custom item. I’ve messed up the past couple years and missed the deadline. I just place my first purchase and feel happy about it. If you are looking for something special for the LEGO fans on your list check them out.

According to a November 24 post, they’ve already raised over $6,000 this year. At that point there was a week left in the fund raising drive. Now it’s just the holiday weekend left. I hope they break their record this year.

On Saturday the 29th C4C is joining Beyond the Brick for a 24 hour live stream. From 5pm EST 11/28 through 5pm 11/29, tune in for a full day fun and building with Lego fans from the online community on Google Hangout. “We will be raising money together for this year’s Creations for Charity through a pledge system. For each hour spent on the stream, anyone can pledge to donate a certain amount to the fundraiser. The LEGO Group has pledged to donate a Lego set for every man-hour on air!”

This is a great fundraiser. Help if you can purchase an item for a LEGO fan, pledge and watch the stream and feel good about helping.

Watch “Saving Star Wars” and benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation

“SAVING STAR WARS” REUNITES WITH THE 501ST LEGION TO BENEFIT THE MAKE-A-WISH FOUNDATION.

In 2004, DAVE (DARTH VADER) PROWSE, filmmaker Gary L. Wood, and the worldwide fan army, the 501st Legion, joined forces to save “Star Wars”. In 2013, it appears they may have succeeded.

To celebrate, and to say Thank You to the 501st who, in addition to “trooping” in their amazing costumes, have always made charity events and fundraising a part of their on-going mission, Dave and WoodWorks Films have made their award-winning, cult hit, “Saving Star Wars” available to stream online and will donate $2 from every viewing to Make-A-Wish in the name of the 501st.

To sweeten the deal, this offer isn’t just for the over 6000 members of the 501st worldwide. Any viewings of the movie from Labor Day Weekend, August 30 to Sunday, Sept 8, 2013, will generate $2 for Make-A-Wish, so spread the word to family and friends, even Jedi.

Ten years ago, “Saving Star Wars” told the story of two “Star Wars” fans that accidentally kidnapped George Lucas while trying to honor the wish of an ill child. The Wish? To SAVE “Star Wars”….All NINE films we were promised. For the last 10 years it has traveled all over world, including DVDs of the movie hand-delivered to key members of George Lucas’ team. Today, “Star Wars” lives on.

See the little movie that, with the help of Darth Vader and the Bloodfin Garrison of the 501st, may have helped convinced Mr. Lucas to let the sequels be made.

Grab the family and friends this holiday weekend, enjoy the movie that The Force.net called “A Must See!” and help Make-A-Wish continue to make dreams come true.

Legion LEGO mission patch

A cool Star Wars LEGO item I found. I saw it and had to order one.Expect a fuller post on this event in the near future.

LEGO Trooper PatchThe Legion Rose Bowl Parade LEGO Diorama mission patch.
Dave Liew designed the project’s logo and now it’s being done as a  4″ wide fully embroidered patch available for $7 with shipping included, paypal to trooper.tk210@gmail.com

You can’t spell “Legion” without “LEGO”!

On January 1, 2007 two hundred members of the 501st Legion were invited by George Lucas to march in the Rose Bowl parade. It was an epic moment to show the world that the Legion can represent the world of Star Wars with pride.

On January 1, 2013 we announced the beginning of the Rose Parade LEGO Diorama Project to gather 200+ LEGO Stormtrooper figures and other assorted figures to recreate that epic scene and have it available to show at massive Legion events (shooting for CVII in 2014!).
