It’s a busy weekend. The first weekend in May is free comic book day, The start of our renaissance Festival, the release of Avengers: Age of Ultron, the release of the Simpsons series 2 LEGO minifigs, and the start of May the 4th. The 4th isn’t till monday but some places are already holding Star Wars themes sales.

Today is May the Fourth a day to have fun with Star Wars. The day is a play on words “May the Force be with you” becomes :may the Fourth be with you.” Many of the Tee-shirts sites are offering Star designs today.

It’s that time of year that fans celebrate the Star Wars Saga. Many companies will have specials on Star wars themed items. LEGO has already started their promotions.

TRU May 4th build event.
This Saturday Toys R us is holding another build event. This time children can build a mini Tie-fighter and a mini X-wing. The event runs from noon to 2pm. Plus save 30% off selected LEGO Star wars sets(see below).
LEGO events this week
It’s a busy geek weekend. The Simpsons minifigs are due to be released Thursday, May 1. look for the blind bags wherever you buy your LEGO sets. The Simpsons LEGO episode airs Sunday night be sure to watch on May 4th.
May the 4th is also a big Star Wars holiday. Many companies will have sales on Star Wars Merchandise.  I know that at least one of the shirt a day sites has a couple of Star Wars themed designs planned. LEGO is offering a free Darth Revan minifig with purchase of $75 of LEGO Star Wars sets. They will also have a free poster with any Star Wars set. They will have sale on some Star wars sets but those sales have not been announced yet. I will post them when they are announced late Friday night. I will participate by running sale on my star wars toy photography themed prints this weekend.

Just got an update on Toys R Us May the fourth plans. There is a free Jek-14 build for children 5 and up. Plus a free Gauntlet with a LEGO purchase of $20 or more.

UPDATE: My TRU is already handing out the Gauntlet polybag. They have signs in the LEGO Aisle about the promo offer. I saw a cashier get one from the service desk for customer that had a larger LEGO purchase.
Yoda Chronicles Build At TRU May 4th
I was at Toys r US today, They had a poster for a Yoda Chronicles build on Saturday May the fourth from noon till 2. It’s a black mini star fighter. See if your store has a sign in the LEGO aisle. Not sure of the qualifications to get it. I’m guessing the regular TRU rules apply.
