Due to corvid-19 some comic publishers are delaying releasing new issues. I’ll try to make posts to help entertain fans. I am also posting what I am building while I’m stuck at home. If any of this brightened your day please drop a tip in my Ko-Fi or Venmo accounts. Link in bottom of page.
How is safer at home affecting you?
If you are at home, what are doing to pass the time? Are you building with LEGO?

After many delays Boss Fight Studio’s Medusa has finally arrived. Here is a quick picture of this new figures. I’ll post a full review when I have time, that be in a few days. But for right now look at this mythical figure, well not directly.

The Snake Charmer.
I found some series 13 minifigures today. I knew exactly with whom to pair the snake charmer. The LEGO Snake Charmer meets his greatest challenge.
Sony Pictures Animation announces ‘Medusa’ directed by Lauren Faust
Sony Pictures Animation today announced the acquisition of an original animated comedy feature pitch by Todd Alcott and Holly Golden entitled MEDUSA, which will tell an all-new story behind the infamous snake-headed lady from Greek mythology. Emmy winner Lauren Faust will direct.
MEDUSA will be a clever, heartfelt animated comedy about a girl who’s having the ultimate bad hair day.”
She didn’t get her wings from redbull.
A quick picture to show you my Brickwarriors demon wings. I got the wings in January at Brick Fair Alabama. I too busy checking out the cool stuff and forgot to get the armor that attaches the wings to the minifig. I placed an order over the weekend and the armor and several other parts arrived today. You will see more accessories here soon.
Boss Fight Studio’s Vitruvian Action Figures
Boss Fight Studio has launched their Kickstarter project for Vitruvian H.A.C.K.S. (highly articulated character kits system) For their first line of original action figures their theme is Greek mythology. The action figure will be Greek warriors and Gorgons. If you’ve follow this blog for a while you know I collect Medusa figures. So I’m very excited about these.
I’ve wanted these figures ever since Mike’s collection posted a preview of the Medusa from the G.I. Joe convention. I’ve already supported the kickstarter. I hope they hit the stretch goals cause they have some more awesome figures in their proposed waves 2 and 3.

Year end review. Tale of the K-mart Medusa
This tail begins back on April 23 when I spotted the Series 10 blind bags in K-mart A full week before the release date. I blogged on it then but there’s more to the story. Here’s a recap.
I was running errands today. I stopped at the nearest K-mart for some 2 liter drinks. Eventually I made it to the toy section. I checked the LEGO aisle and saw blind bags. It took a second to realize these were series 10 bags. I tried to remember what was in the series so I would know what parts to feel for. I try a few bags and found a Medusa and a black and white clown. Plus a mystery one. I checked price on the self-scan, $2.99.
I waited in line for an extremely long time. There’s only one register running. When I finally get there the cashier scans the bag, she scans it again then just walks away. She talks to another employee and comes back. “Can’t sell them, look.” she scans it and the screen says BEFORE SALES DATE. “It doesn’t say when we can sell.” She pushes them across the counter and says maybe customer service can help.
I go over there tell the customer service associate about it and that they scan at the price check kiosk. She looks for paperwork with a date finds nothing, Pages the toy department. Says she can’t sell but she’ll see if they know the date. She calls again. Someone finally shows scans it and says they can’t sell till May 1st.
So I almost had a Medusa. It was easy to feel in the bag. I just hope I can find it on the first. I never saw series 9 at this store at all. I can’t blame the cashiers they have to hold to the Hold off floor date but man, so close to a scoop for the blog.
The Saga continues.
A few days later I’m reviewing my bank account. There’s a charge from K-mart on it. I didn’t but anything that day so there’s no reason for the charge. Then I remembered I slid my card when The cashier started scanning. She never ended the transaction so I was paid $21.00 for whatever the next customer bought.
The only proof I had, was my bank statement. I knew from my retail past you can get better service if you are nice and have full details. I printed the relevant info from my bank account. I drove back to K-mart and talked to customer service. They called a manager. She was interviewing a job seeker. while waiting I checked to see if the minifigs were still on the salesfloor. No they had put them back. So I waited. The manager arrived. I gave her my story and was able to tell her the time and register I was at. She asked if she could have a copy of my paper. I told her she could. She said it could take a couple of days to research. and she would call me.
A couple of days passed and no call. Since it’s on the way home I stopped by. I waited a longer time. The CS person even told the manager that I was waiting patiently. Another manager came by and said they we looking in to it. Finally the store manager come out says they checked the cameras. Saw me slid my card then walked to customer service. But I needed to wait and see if the payment actually hit my bank. The copy I gave her said pending. If it hits the bank we will refund it. I checked the bank when I get home the $21 has been deducted from the account. It’s the weekend so I wait till Monday.
Monday I take the updated statement back and wait another twenty minutes. Finally a customer service member brings me a refund slip to sign showing I’ve been refunded. I finally got money back.
A few days later it’s the first and I run to Toys R US at lunch. I searched for a Medusa but didn’t find one. I didn’t want to spend any time or money at K-mart So I don’t check there. I finally find a Medusa at Target a day or two later. But I really want that Medusa I was denied. I stop there a few days after the first still no figs out. A week or so goes by I’m still collecting series 10. I stop there on a mission. I spent so much time here waiting in line that going to find it. But I don’t want to give that store any extra money so I’m buying, Nothing but THAT Medusa. The figs have finally been put on the floor. The box looks fairy untouched. A few minutes of searching and I finally I find the K-mart Medusa. This time I get through the check out without incident.
I’ve only been to that store a few times since then. I rescued a second Medusa from there.
Medusa in the late afternoon sun
I found this Medusa figure at a local independent toy store. It is made by Safari LTD. It is in scale with the Papo and Schleich toy lines. Safari makes detail animal, fantasy and historical figure. You can find them at museums, zoos, or sometimes like I did in a store next to the Papo toys. I later found this same toy a Micheal’s.
In blog news the site in nearing 25,000 views. Maybe late this month or early December.
Fantasy Faceoff Don’t look or Don’t look away
So who would win?
Look at Medusa and turn to stone. The Weeping Angel is stone until you look away. But how does Medusa know if the Angel has been turned to stone? Don’t look, don’t look away, don’t even blink, stalemate, checkmate?
Another Monday Means Another Medusa
Not actually called Medusa, but you know they based this character on the gorgon. This is the She-Demon from the Hercules the Legendary Journeys tv show. Toy Biz made action figures from the Hercules and Xena show during the nineties. She-Demon: Stone Strike Tail is a nice toy, not as detailed as current action figures but it’s a mythological character and those are always cool to collect.
Although her appearance suggests a modern interpretation of Lamia, the She-Demon’s powers and story more closely mirror those of Medusa.
From Wave Two of the ToyBiz HTLJ 5 inch action figure line. The She-Demon as seen in “The Wrong Path.” The She-Demon has a spring-loaded tail. To make her attack, you pull back the tail and then press a button at the bottom to make it spring forward. The She-Demon also comes with a “stone” face mask which will fit over the heads and shoulders of the Hercules and Iolaus figures so you can turn them into stone!
I’m sick of these snakes.
Sick of Snakes stars LEGO Minifig series 10 Medusa and Nick Fury and S.H.I.E.L.D. flying car from LEGO Super Heroes Spider-Cycle Chase 76004. Based on Samuel L Jackson’s Snakes on a Plane.
Gorgons attack! and Ebay suggests what?
I found another Medusa.
The Medusa tail has been used in Ninjago snake minifigs. I remember seeing some of the figs before and thought they were cool. I checked E-bay to see how much the figs costs. I hit search and boy was I surprised. Look what showed up as a related search. Woman’s home companion cookbook. What does Ninjago have to do with cooking? Or is it the snakes that matched the cooking theme? I haven’t searched for cook books.
Giving benefit of doubt maybe Moms search Ninjago for their kids and eBay marks recognized the same user had looked at cook books.
LEGO Medusa!
I finally had time to shoot the Medusa minifig. She looks even better than the pictures. The tail is really big as it should be to keep it in scale. I want more of these. I don’t know what I’ll do with them but these are cool. This is my favorite from the collectible series.
