Valentines Minion Mega Blok minifigs
There are only two in this series Kevin and Bob. Really the only thing on these are the accessories. Kevin has an “I’m with Cupid” sign and Bob has wings, bow and arrow. The limited parts make it easy to feel the bag and get both figures with getting duplicates. Both come with a red 2×4 brick.
Easter Minion Mega Blok Blind Bag minifigs
Easter Minions are out. I found these at Kroger. They are part of the Despicable Me Mega Construx series. There are only three mini figs in this series,Kevin, Bob, and an evil minion.
Really the only thing new on these are the accessories. Kevin has an Easter Egg bowl, which doubles as a hat. he also has a spring of hair. Bob has basket and an egg or maybe a cupcake. The purple minion has a mini purple bunny. The limited parts make it easy to feel the bag and get all three figures without getting duplicates. They have a thin light blue 2×4 base.
“What’s in the Bag Tip?”:
Kevin and the evil minion both have long torsos. Bob is not that much shorter than them so feel for the accessories. The bowl is fairly distinctive. It’s round and hollow. The purple minion can be found by its hair. You can feel something soft and not flat like the checklist. For Bob feel for the basket. It is narrow unlike the bowl.
Minion Fan?
So will you add these to your collection?
Valentines Minion Mega Blok minifigs
Hey I found some thing cool at Target valentines Minions. These are part of the Despicable Me Mega Blok series.
“What’s in the Bag Tip?”:
Feel for the accessories. The sign is a square all sides the same length, and it is thin. If you find a square it’s Kevin no square it’s Bob. The wings are squishy in the bag and the arrow is just a stick. You might try feeling for the body size of the minions but may confuse the brick for Kevin long torso.
Minion Fan?
So will you add these to your collection? Give as a gift tomorrow? Yep last-minute cause I found them at the last-minute.
Review: Minion Mega Blok figures and sets
I have built my first Minion constructible toy set. The Jelly Lab set has 86 pieces and retails for $9.99. It includes one mini minion. The set is colorful with several semi-transparent pieces. The theme is a minion jelly factory, there tubes and hoses and a conveyor belt. Some of the parts do not snap into place and grip
The Jelly Lab set with a blind box Minion
The figures look great. They are molded in color with just a little bit of paint for the hair. The goggles, overalls and banana are soft plastic. The goggles really give it personality when they are snapped on to the figure. The legs are hard to snap into place. The arms are a little easier but you have to force them into place. Mega Bloks says you can mix and match arms and feet but I don’t see that happening much if it’s this hard to snap them into place.
Here is a comaparison of he Mega Blok Minion and the Thinkway toys surprise Minions. I think the MB version have a more accurate color. Plus they can stand unaided. The eyes are more detailed
Minion Mega Blok figures and sets
Sometimes when running a blog you learn about stuff via your readers. That what has happened in this case. Last month “Mega block minions blind bags” appeared as a search term in my stats. That’s pretty specific and different from the Thinkway toys blind bags. I ran a search and found out that Mega bloks does have megabloks minion minifigures. I saw one big set a few days later, but no more till this week. I have found the playsets at Target and Toys R Us. Today I finally found the minifigs.
They are called buildable Minion blind packs. They are in blind boxes not bags. There are six figures in series one. The instruction sheet says there are common, rare and ultra rare figures. It’s doesn’t give you odds on find any figure. But there is a number stamped into the bottom of the box. Mine had A22094ES on the box and the figures was a Minion with a banana. That checks out with a list of code posted at Dollastic . The figures have a suggested retail of $2.99 but are $3.99 at Toy R Us. The MSRP on the sets range from $5.99 -$19.99. There are seven sets to collect. You can see them all here,
I got a figure and a set. I’ll do a full review in a few days. Short review for now The figure I got looks great. It’s molded in color with just a little bit of paint for the hair. The goggles, overalls and banana are soft plastic. The goggles really give it personality when they are snapped on to the figure. The legs and arms are hard to snap into place. You have to have them lined up just right. The say you can mix and match arms and feet but I don’t see that happening much if it’s this hard to snap them into place.

Mornings mean Mega Bloks, Bloks for Breakfeast?
Mega Blok cars in General Mills Cereals
I had a nice surprise at the grocery store today. Actual toys in the cereals boxes. Specifically selected General Mills brands have a Mega Bloks car inside. There are four different vehicles; a pick-up truck, a SUV, and two cars. Each set has a set of Hello Kitty and Power Rangers stickers. I like that both themes are in each set. IT prevents a Hello Kitty fan being upsets if the got the Power Ranger set or vice versa. Or you don’t even have too add the stickers. That way you can use the blocks with your others sets. You can choose which set to decorate your car. Once the box is empty, you can cut out sections and make a ramp to drive the cars over.
I spotted them in Lucky Charms, Reese’s Puffs, and Honey Nut Cheerios. According to the General Mills blog the toys can also be found in Golden Grahams, Coco Puffs and Cinnamon Toast Crunch.
October Nerd Block subscription ends soon.
Nerd Block subscriptions ends in five days. Here is what we know about October’s block.
Next Time in Nerd Block!
Kevin Smith is the Guest Curator for the month. The theme is Collide: Marvel versus DC. The box will include a tee-shirt, Deadpool Figure, an Avengers replica prop, and on the noncomic side some kind of Zelda related item. They tease that it’s a charming item.
Deadpool is bringing his wise-crackin’ smart mouth attitude to Nerd Block Classic this month in the form of a limited figure!
With two variations of the figure that you could receive, this is a Block you don’t want to miss!
This said this month will be my last Nerd Block unboxing. We just got hit with some unexpected expenses and we have to trim some things. The mystery box is one of them.
September Nerd Block Unboxing.
It’s Nerd Block time. The hints for this month were a Classic TMNT item, a scribblenauts item, and a Guardians of The Galaxy shirt and a STD. Lets see what was in the box. Plus an announcement about October’s block.
Mega Bloks series 2 blind Bag ($2.99) Series 2 featured characters from the Marvel movies but not actual screen versions of the characters. These figures were released a few years ago. I got Captain America. I already have this figure. I may send him to ebay or put him in our booth.
DC Collectibles Scribblenauts Unmasked Series 2 Mystery Figure ($4.99) Nice looking figure plus a code for a digital comic.
Nerd Block stress relief squishy brain. (~2.99) It’s cool.
The big TMNT item is a paper craft set by boxos and funko. ($9.99 ) The set has all four turtles, Splinter, Shredder, a foot solider, a pizza place and the Turtle van. Not sure what to this of this. Not nearly as cool an item as I was expecting when they said “dubbed by our staff as their top Nerd Block item of 2014.”
Ninja Turtles are cool. I’ve built a few papercraft items. I just don’t know if I want to set this up. My son is too young to build it and not destroy it.
The STD item is a Giant Microbe. It is a plush toy of a microscopic organism. I guessed this was what we would get when they said the box included an STD. The toy is bagged with a card with information about the microscopic organism. There’s a card that says not for people under 12 years of age. But the same info in on a post card in the box. The card has facts about STDs such as *one in every 4 collage students has had an STD. Yes they spelled it as collage not college.
Anyway you could have caught one of four bug from the box. Mine had Chlamydia.
The best thing this month is the shirt. An Awesome mix tape Guardians of the Galaxy shirt.

New Page: What’s in the Bag?
I have a new page that lists some of the apps, tricks, and websites that help you determine what is hiding in that blind bag. The link is at the top of this blog. I made a page rather than a post so it could be easier to find. If you have more tips or sites please post them on the page.
Excerpt
What’s in the Bag.
The blind bags are cool but they can be frustrating finding the figure you want. You may want just one figure from a set. You might want to collect all the figures. or you may want multiples of the same figure for army building. But how can you know what is in the bag? These Blind bags guides can help.
The best I’ve found for LEGO is the Touch Guide in the My Mini’s app. The app coats $1.99 so less than a mini-fig and its well worth it. no only does it tell you what to feel for it shows you what mini’s you might confuse with it.
