Next Time in Nerd Block!
The November block will contain a Boba Fett item, a Batman item, an exclusive shirt, and a chance at a bonus celebrity item. Nerd Block has announce that this month shirt features Deadpool and this is the only place to get the design. As extra incentive one in seven blocks will have an autograph by future Nerd Block curator Bruce Campbell. Sometime in the near future Bruce Campbell will select the items in the nerd block. But this month he’s autographed some cards for some lucky subscribers. So good luck.First 250 subscribers to use the code HOLIDAY save for 15% off Nerd Block!

Kevin Smith is the Guest Curator for this month’s Nerd Block. The theme is Collide: Marvel versus DC. They teased that the box would include a tee-shirt, Deadpool Figure, an Avengers replica prop, and on the noncomic side some kind of Zelda related item.

Let’s see what’ in the box.
The A Legend of Zelda Dangler.
A set of buttons featuring Marvel and DC characters.
The shirt is Jay And silent Bob as Batman and Robin. Nice looking shirt.
Arkham Asylum patient notebook. I can’t find much about this online other than other unboxing post it’s cool.
The Deadpool is a Funk pop Bobblehead. There were possible versions, red suit or X-force Gray suit. I got the gray suit. There was pop vinyl figure back in the August block.
The official Avengers prop is Agent Coulson’s Vintage Captain America Trading cards. These are great there’s two sets of the cards. One in mint condition one blood stained. Great for Agent Coulson or Nick Fury costumers. This is my favorite item in the box. A quick search shows this retailing at $40.
MSRP: $40 (Plus Shipping/Handling)
– 2 Complete sets of cards, “Near Mint” as Agent Coulson would brag and the Blood stained set that Nick Fury used to encourage the Avengers to unite!
– Printed from the original digital files supplied by MARVEL Studios
– Presentation booklet
– Prop Story
– Certificate of Authenticity
– PRINTED IN THE USA!from Efx collectibles
This said this month will be my last Nerd Block unboxing. We just got hit with some unexpected expenses and we have to trim some things. The mystery box is one of them. Being an adult sucks. November’s box will have a Boba Fett item and a one in seven chance of having an Bruce Campbell Autograph. Plus some time in the future Bruce Campbell will be the Nerd Block curator.
October Nerd Block subscription ends soon.

September Nerd Block Unboxing.
It’s Nerd Block time. The hints for this month were a Classic TMNT item, a scribblenauts item, and a Guardians of The Galaxy shirt and a STD. Lets see what was in the box. Plus an announcement about October’s block.
Mega Bloks series 2 blind Bag ($2.99) Series 2 featured characters from the Marvel movies but not actual screen versions of the characters. These figures were released a few years ago. I got Captain America. I already have this figure. I may send him to ebay or put him in our booth.
DC Collectibles Scribblenauts Unmasked Series 2 Mystery Figure ($4.99) Nice looking figure plus a code for a digital comic.
Nerd Block stress relief squishy brain. (~2.99) It’s cool.
The big TMNT item is a paper craft set by boxos and funko. ($9.99 ) The set has all four turtles, Splinter, Shredder, a foot solider, a pizza place and the Turtle van. Not sure what to this of this. Not nearly as cool an item as I was expecting when they said “dubbed by our staff as their top Nerd Block item of 2014.”
Ninja Turtles are cool. I’ve built a few papercraft items. I just don’t know if I want to set this up. My son is too young to build it and not destroy it.
The STD item is a Giant Microbe. It is a plush toy of a microscopic organism. I guessed this was what we would get when they said the box included an STD. The toy is bagged with a card with information about the microscopic organism. There’s a card that says not for people under 12 years of age. But the same info in on a post card in the box. The card has facts about STDs such as *one in every 4 collage students has had an STD. Yes they spelled it as collage not college.
Anyway you could have caught one of four bug from the box. Mine had Chlamydia.
The best thing this month is the shirt. An Awesome mix tape Guardians of the Galaxy shirt.

I don’t know what will be in the box. But I’m looking forward to the TMNT item. I’m hoping the shirt is cool. Speaking of nerd blocks shirts last month I same someone in public with the July TMNT Shirt. It was cool to see another subscribe in a random encounter. A couple of days later was when the august box was on my doorstep with the awesome pop vinyl Harley Quinn.

So What’s in the Box?
First up is Garbage pail minikins series 2($2.99). Two figures with matching stickers. I remember Garbage pail from when I was little. There were gross and fun. I got Micheal Mutant ans Pete Seat. Pete Seat is a yellow Variant version. That bag said yellow was ultra rare but I have no clue as to how rare. The comic store version have peach as their ultra rare and they are 1 in 12. Yellow rare were sold in retail blind bags.
Bravest Warrior Key chain ($3.99) from Cartoon Hangover
The shirt is a pokemon pokeball. It is a cool design. I like the look of it but since I don’t play Pokemon, this may end up on E-bay or storenvy.
Doctor Who comics (3.99 each) Number 1 issues of the new tenth and eleventh Doctor’s comic with exclusive Nerd Block covers. Comics are cool.
And the big event for the Month. Funko Pop Heroes Vinyl. It is a previews exclusive Harley Quinn. I was so happy to see this is my box. This month subscribers got either Harley Quinn or Batman Funko pop figures.
September Nerd Block: They have said September’s box will include a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle item from the classic cartoon series. Plus some big reveal about the box sometime this week. I’ll update it here.

Nerd Block July Unboxing: ComicCon Edition
It’s Nerd Block Time! They call it comic con in a box and this month they really mean it. Timed to arrive just before Comic Con this week they included an actual Comic Con item but more on that later.
What is Nerd Block?
Nerd Block is a monthly subscription service for geeks. Every month, subscribers will receive a package containing a t-shirt and 4-6 toys or collectables. You pick the shirt size but the design and toys are unknown.
So What’s in the Box?
First up is Star Wars Insider The magazine focused on Star Wars. I used to get this but let my subscription lapse since there were no new movies planned. Now that Disney is producing more films maybe it’s time to renew. The Cover article is Jeffery Brown’s Darth books. These are cool books I have Darth Vader Father and Son book. I love it. Star Wars Insider retails for $7.99. This is the first of two Star Wars items this month.
NERF Zombie Strike Ricochet ($7.99) Read about it in Nerf Wika. They give it a retail of $7.99. It is neat. Too big for my son to use. I could use it as a costume accessory. If I get finish my steam punk outfit. Here’s a picture of how others have painted NERF guns for costume uses.
The shirt is a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles design. Turtles are awesome I will wear this one. Retail ~$11.00
The second Star Wars item is a deformed plush vehicle. I got the Millennium Falcon. Their postcard also showed an AT-AT and an X-wing. Any of them would have be cool but I’m glad I got my favorite ship.
The Comic Con tie-in is a DVD of Comic-Com IV A Fan’s hope. It is a documentary on Comic Con. I haven’t watched it yet.I hope it is entertaining. It has interviews with Stan Lee and Joss Whedon. Which partly explains how Nerd Block tied them into this month the other reason, the dvd included a PVC figure of Stan Lee and Harry Knowles of Ain’t It Cool News. Others sets had Joss whedon and the Morgan Spurlock, who directed the documentary.
I found a little history on the figures. NECA had them a while back and there were only 20,000 of the figures made.
In review some cool stuff this month. A Star Wars magazine, A NERF gun, a plush Millennium Falcon, A cool TMNT shirt, and a DVD with a Stan Lee figure.
Spoiler alert! If you get a box don’t read the shipping label. There is a mini invoice on it that tells whats inside. It’s vague but may reveal more than you want to know.

July Nerd Block and Comic Con
Nerd Block just announced that their July Block will feature a San Diego Comic-Con item in addition to the two Star Wars items they’ve already announced for the month.
July’s Block will feature one awesome SDCC related item!
Did we mention that Stan Lee and Joss Whedon play a role in this fantastic Comic-Con item? We don’t want to give too much away, but your desk collectables will be in envy of either of these superstars.
Nerd block classic blocks are 19.99 Plus shipping 9.50
Stan Lee and Joss Whedon item? My first guess would be an Avengers item. But who knows. Guess I’ll learn in mid July.
Subscriptions for July end in less than two weeks. Blocks ship on July 15.
Nerd Block June Unboxing
I had a day off on Friday. I spent part of the day shooting mini figs. I had just download the new images to the computer. Thunderstorms have been in the forecast all day and they finally started. I could hear the thunder outside my office, I glanced out the window and saw the rain falling but not heavily. I spotted the mail truck outside and figure I better get the mail before the rain got bad.
I shut down the computer and downstairs. As I opened the door, the lights go out. We just lost power. And where it was light rain a few moments before it was now pouring outside. I stepped on the porch and the wind is blew rain in my face. There’s thunder and lighting but the porch is covered so I thought I’ll wait out the storm. The lights flicker back. Then there’s a Kaaarck as a tree limb crashes to the ground.
I watched the rain awhile longer then decided it’s not slowing down so I’ll head back inside. I turn around and there at my feet is the my first Nerd Block.
What is Nerd Block?
Nerd Block is a monthly subscription service for geeks. Every month, subscribers will receive a package containing a t-shirt and 4-6 toys or collectables. You pick the shirt size but the design and toys are unknown. I signed up for the June box because they announced there were two shirts and a Doctor Who item in the June block.
So What’s in the Box?
I’ll start with the smallest item, a Minecraft sticker by Jinx. Retail $1.99. Cool if you play the game. I don’t but will pass it on to somebody that does play.
Next is a Wii Mario Kart racer. I got Donkey Kong. Which is good cause he’s my favorite. Retail ~$2.00
Next are the shirts. Iron Sentinel and Who you gonna call. Both are cool shirts. I love Ghost Busters and Giant Robots. Retail $10 each.
Next is the Doctor Who item. It is a Titans vinyl figure. This is from the Doctors series and it could have been any of the eleven Doctors. I got the First Doctor. These are neat figures I have a Judoon from series. Retail $8-$10
But the big surprise in this box was a game.
It’s a Nerd Block pin art game. You make shapes and design by pushing the pins. This will live on my desk and most likely appear in action figure photo some day.
Here is the Doctor in the blue box of pins.
Spoiler alert! If you get a box don’t read the shipping label. There is a mini invoice on it that tells whats inside. It’s vague but may reveal more than you want to know. I saw “vinyl figure on mine.” which was the Doctor Who figure. After the unboxing I read the entire label. It specfically said Mario cart racer but were listed in generic terms; shirt, sticker, game.
Do you enjoy this review? Any questions. I’m considering reviewing the Nerd Block as a monthly feature.
