One Word Photo Challenge: Neon

I’ve joined Jennifer Nichole Wells’s One Word Photo Challenge. It’s a new Photo challenge based on a new word each Tuesday. February 4 is the launch date. She has listed her weekly word until June. The first leg of the challenge is based on color and this week’s color is Neon.

I was sick last week and was unable to make new photos. These images are from my 365 project a few years ago. The first is our local theater.

This is a sign for Grasshopper mowers. I shot this at home and garden event.

Zero to Hero Challenge.

It’s a new year and as part of a commitment to my art and blog, I’ve joined the Worpress Zero to Hero 30 days to a better blog challenge. The first post is an introduction. Or in my case, since this blog is almost three years old, a reintroduction.

My name is Chris. I live in Nashville, TN.  I have always been interested in art and am a huge fantasy and science fiction fan. I have combined both passions into my Fairy Photography and Toy Photography. In May 2007 I was named a Froudian Artist of the Month for my Fantasy site, Yoda archives is my toy photography site.
Yoda and Thor
Yoda archives started as an action figure photography site featuring, the never before revealed adventures of the Jedi Master, Yoda. As I the site progressed I expanded my subjects to include many toys  line and LEGO minifigures.  I regularly post pictures featuring  toys in a single panel comic.

Bokeh wall tutorial

DIY Photography has a Bokeh wall tutorial. The post describes how to make a background with a simple household item, Aluminum foil. They feature some great Toy Photography here so read the article for a simple project.

I tried using plastic bottles and different reflective materials for the background until I ended up with using a very simple material found in the kitchen which gave such an amazing result. Aluminum foil.
