Last October I challenged myself to post a robot toy related picture everyday. I am continuing the challenge this year. Welcome back to Robot Tober!
Today post is a Hexbug Zombie Nanobot. Hexbug Nanobots are basically toy bugs. They walk bump into thing and change directions. They do look like scurrying bugs. This time of year you can find the Zombie version that have a glow in the dark skeleton. They come in a black or orange coffin. I found this one in Target Halloween section for about $5.
SIDE NOTE: McDonalds currently has Hexbug or Monster High toys in their Happy Meals.

Print Store on Store Envy
Target has started their end of season toy clearance. They have marked down several toys, including many building blocks sets. I spotted reduced Ionix Bricks , nanoblocks, KRE-O, mega bloks, and those light brick sets. I did not see any LEGO clearance.
My local Target had KRE-O Micro changers series 3 down to $1.48. Very good deal on some figures especially if you want to army build or customize your figures. They also had the Micro Changers Combiners four figure sets for $5.48 half off the original price of $10.99. I’ve seen these reduced at a couple of Targets.
Also reduced were some Nanoblocks sets. They sets were marked down 30% to 50%. They had many bagged sets and one store had a couple boxed sets. I built a set that I still need to review.
I found Toothless Viking Attack (#21001) for half price. The set had the same Toothless that I already own so I passed on this. I did get the giant Toothless Battle set (#21003) for half price. Retail was $39.99 I thought that was too much for only 242 pieces. But 19.98 was a reasonable price. that puts the blocks about eight cents each. They did not have anymore of the small Dragon only sets.
Target has reduced some of the Tenkai Knights sets. The blind bags figures were $1.94. and a few other sets were markets down.
Will you head to Target to get some bricks? Have you see any other store marking down their toys? What deals have you found?
I bought a couple more Ionix Bricks How To Train You Dragon Building sets. I found Toothless (#20001) and Stormfly (#20003) at Target. Target has the sets for $5.99 temporary reduced to $5.69. They are on sale this week along with many other How to Train Your Dragon toys.
I did not take step by step pictures this time. In general the sets were easier to build than Barf and Belch set. The brick was different and it transformed easier than that set. The body brick was the same for Toothless (17 pieces) and Stormfly (14 pieces). You can see from this image that the neck is sturdier than the one I blogged about last week.
There was some difficulty building Stormfly. The underbelly did not want to stay together. The instructions were to put 2 one by two bricks on the body the attach the belly part. It was easier to attach the one by twos to the belly then the belly to the body.
Toothless was easier to build. I like the way the tail was made of ball pieces with studs on them. It looks more like a spine than a single piece would. This also gives the tail more articulation. I like the painting and colors on both sets the heads are well done.
Foolish Lego asked if the figures were sturdy. They are and they aren’t. Toothless and Stormfly are sturdier than Barf and Belch. Parts did not just fall off of them. But pieces can snap off and that is part of the design. The build for Toothless had me remove part of a brick flip it over and reattached it. They are designed to give instead of break but I wouldn’t let little kids play with them.
Ionix Bricks are sold at Target, Toys R us, and Wal-mart. But I haven’t seen the How To Train your Dragon sets at Wal-mart.
Desolation of Smaug
The Hobbit Desolation of Smaug is out on dvd and bluray today. Target has an exclusive Legolas Greenleaf with Accessory Kit with purchase. Be sure to look for the packaging with the mini fig on the cover.
Target also still have the Minion Surprise blind bags for $2.39. The only one i saw were in the entertainment section next to Despicable me 2 dvd which is on sale for $10 this week.
Walmart has Minion Surprise in the toy section and in the Easter section. I just wish they have a series 2 of the figs. I have all the minions.
Toys R Us event on Saturday
*Event intended for children ages 5-up. Parental supervision required at all times. All giveaways and event materials available while supplies last and distributed to participating children only. Limit 1 per child. Quantities limited; no rain checks.
Target finally carries the Minion surprise blonds bags. In fact there are on sale this week. You can also get one free if you purchase the Despicable me dvds.
Walgreen has the KRE-O micro changer Transformer Kreons for $1.99 each if you have the Walgreen’s loyalty card.
It’s saturday so today might be the last day for both sales.
Target is filling their seasonal aisle with Easter merchandise. Among the baskets suffers they have a few cool toys. I saw a LEGO polybag car. They had Hex Bugs in Easter eggs. The nano bugs even had bunny ears. They looked like the head band ears that some people wear at Easter. I think they are removable. Other toys include Disney princess items, 3d Dinosaur puzzles, and some Best Lock set. The best lock sets were Stargate and Rescue themes.
Target has their Valentines merchandise out. They have a few cool Star Wars items, Darth Vader and Yoda candy dispensers. Some Coffee mugs with candy Darth Vader has been kissed and had a lip print on his helmet. There are also valentine hearts with classic marvel Star wars comic book art on them.
The were also toys. A LEGO sea plane polybag, Knex Pac-man blind bags, Angry Birds blind bags and Disney princess toys. They also had Megs Bloks first builder toys. it just a brick and a figure.
Have you seen any cool toys in the valentines sections?
I finally made the brave trek to Target today. I knew they had a LEGO polybag I wanted I just haven’t had the time to make the trip yet and didn’t want to be anywhere near the place last week. Target usually has small gifts for most holidays. Christmas is the big one so I want hunting polybag. Sure enough they has a Christmas train (#40034). The set has 82 pieces and was $4.99. It’s an engine pulling a car with some gifts.
They also have a Friends Ice Cream cart polybag (3106) and the TMNT Kraang Laser Turret set (30270)I posted back in October.
Plus a surprise from brick clone. Target had two Best-lock Star Gate SG-1 Polybags. One was a Glider and the other was Jack on Abydos set. When word got out about SG-1 building block sets, I though cool I can get the instructions and build the gate with LEGO bricks. But it turned out the gate was a molded piece so I didn’t go hunting for it.
I’ve built a couple Best-locks sets before. They brick don’t click well. The paint job and figure likenesses are not near at LEGO’s level either. The minifig in the set was broke. They did replace it though.
But I had to get a Stargate and DHD set for under $5. So I will build it soon and give a full review.
Another neat item they had was a Spot the dog PEZ dispenser. It’s part of a gift card set so you have to buy the gift card to get it. I’ll think about getting it. I missed the LEGO spot set a couple years back. I used to collect PEZ so it might be neat one to add.
Shouldn’t Batman have a debit card in his utility belt?
